A "funny purple ring is an indication that you have an infection starts in May. Eye of Lyme 'arenas are not always round, or red or coherent.
There must be a doctor, PRONTO be considered local.
In the case of Lyme, took the early and the prognosis is very good when you get the right antibiotic.
(If you live in the AV east, where Lyme is endemic, you know how serious it could end if we just ignore it and hope the best.)

Take a look at this website without any doubt, I would be the doctors checked out, sounds like a very serious disease. Better safe than sorry! I hope it is nothing serious :-)
If the bite has a ring around him, must go to the doctor. This is surely a sign of Lyme disease.
It is likely that two different tick bit him.
People are different. When and whether symptoms depends on the person. The ring fully described, and Lyme disease. It could be anything, but I will certainly check on. The fact that one never knows. =)
I think in general, if a tick bites, until it is jammed (unless) you remove it and fall again fully depends. So spines are likely two different signals.
Some people have a red ring, which appear immediately - within hours. For others it may be 30 days or more. Others have never ring, but still Lyme.
Do not mess with that. Get a sample. And look at the following sites:
